Your transfer case is located behind your transmission, and it connects to your front and rear drive shafts. With a series of gears and a chain drive system, it’s important that you have your transfer case inspected and serviced as needed. Transfer cases can work along with a two wheel drive function and four wheel drive function. Power is split between your front axle and rear axle. The wheels will turn in unison.
