It’s our 6th Annual Coats for Kids Coat Drive going on all October long at the Steet Ponte Auto Group! We created our coat drive in response to our Toy Drive that we started 16 years ago. We were getting an overwhelming request for winter coats and snow pants for kids, instead of gifts for the holidays. So we thought, why not kick off our Holiday Giving season with a Coat Drive in October, to get the kids their warm winter clothes before the snow falls! This year, our Coat Drive donations are going to: Utica & Rome Elementary Schools (Yorkville stores) Herkimer & CVA Elementary Schools (Steet Ponte Chevy) Johnstown & Fulton-Fonda Elementary Schools (Steet Toyota of Johnstown) We are asking for donations of NEW coats, snow pants, hats, gloves, mittens, scarves. Sizes needed are all children’s sizes ranging from 4T-Kids XL Husky! Last year, we donated 675 articles of winter clothing and are looking to beat that number this year, but can only do it with YOUR help! Purchase a coat or winter outerwear item and bring it to any of our eight locations. We’ll have an area in our showroom designated for the donations where you can leave it. On November 1st, we’ll tally everything up and the schools will come to take everything back to be distributed! We hope you can help keep our local kids warm this winter and help our Coats for Kids Coat Drive!!

We had our 25th Annual Company Picnic at Enchanted Forest Water Safari in Old Forge, NY on Sunday, July 16th! We had a blast, as usual, and fully enjoyed our own private pavilion, all you can eat lunch buffet, and never ending ice cream! Our picnic has grown so much, when we first started in 1998, it was just our first 3 stores, United Auto Sales, Steet Toyota of Yorkville, and Steet Ponte Chevy. We started it to build camaraderie and as a way to thank our hard working employees for all that they do for us with a relaxing day out. Since our first picnic, we’ve acquired 5 more stores with a total of 350 employees! Tickets are included for you and your immediate family for a full day pass to the park. The weather in the Adirondacks was perfect, despite the forecast that called for rain all day, and we can’t wait for next year. Thanks to all who attended, we had a great day!

On Saturday, March 18th, we were a proud sponsor of the 6th Annual Johnstown Fire Department’s Charity Ball! We not only sponsored the ball, but we got a few tables for a fun night out! The gala was a semi-formal event right next door at our neighbor, The Holiday Inn’s beautiful grounds! The Johnstown Firefighters Local 779 Charity Fund is used to give back to the community through sponsorships, donations and supporting community events. The charity fund is most importantly used to help city residents who have unfortunately been displaced from their home due to fire by providing financial assistance to get them through the most difficult hours of their lives. The 6th year of the charity ball had music provided by the "Upstate NY's Top-Ranked Party Band" Jukebox Rebellion. We had a blast and are looking forward to next year’s event!

We are donating most needed items and wish list items to this integral program in our community that supports homeless women and children.
